Brushworks is Moving to a New Location

WOW, What a Summer! Thank you for having patience with this whole process of relocating our Brushworks Studio. I will always maintain what a privilege it was to have spent so much time in the River Ridge Building.

That said…The new Eagan Studio is coming along and is going to be awesome. I will include a few pictures of its build out and keep you as current as I can. I did hire a lawyer to look over the lease.  So glad I took that advice from many of you…you were right. Not that there was anything significant; just legal wording changes that interpret my business needs as well as the landlord. Thanks for that advice. Plus, she had great advice for the future.  Still a small matter to deal with, but so glad to have that taken care of.

Our studio has a huge north facing window that provides perfect light

My brother in law (who owned his own home construction company) has volunteered to step in as my eyes and voice as the build out continues. He has the language and experience to communicate with electricians, plumbers and sheetrock people. Things I would never think of.  Much of the lighting will be on individual dimmer switches, so we can make lots of adjustments as needed. And honestly the natural light is beautiful.  The Oil painters will get the best of it.

Our new studio space while under construction.

I can’t tell you all how much I miss being in studio, teaching and being among our artist community. I am so grateful to each of you for everything you contribute in multiple ways. All of your passion and dedication to the pursuit of beauty through your expression of art and the compassion you share with one another is uniquely remarkable. I miss you all …

As things are right now, I would expect the Studio to be ready in mid September (please hang in there…It will be worth the wait). You all will be the first to step thru the doors. The address is 3344 Sherman Court, Suite 106A, Eagan.  Just one block east of Pilot Knob Road, turn East at Granite City Grill off Pilot Knob. If you are in the area, please drive by, peak in the windows and take a picture for me.

Plein Air Painting:

The summer clock has ticked by and I apologize…There will be No Plein Air this summer.   In the last paragraph of this letter I will share Ron (my husbands update).

Brushworks Exhibit

I have arranged an exhibit with the Minnesota Valley Wildlife Refuge Center for June of 2019. The Wildlife Center is located in Bloomington by the Mall Of America, just off of American Blvd. This exhibit will include all current Brushworks Students and supporters. The Exhibit will focus on Butterfly’s and coincide with the Centers Pollinators Event.  The exhibit is open for all painting and drawing mediums, as well as photography or give me other ideas. A really nice winter project for all of us, but do get out and get your photo references this summer and fall. Take walks with your camera and visit the MN Valley Wildlife Center…it’s pretty cool.

Renee Lawrenz is working on the Brushworks website and has some excellent ideas. Our goal is having everything ready to go in September.

I will keep in touch as the studio develops, and let everyone know when we can resume our normal class schedule.

Best Wishes,
